Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf worships every Sunday at 9:00AM in the chapel on the south end of our facility. Services are conducted in Sign with voice interpretation for the benefit of hearing visitors. Immediately after the morning service, members stay for another hour of informal fellowship.
Christ Deaf is a diverse mix of young folks, retirees, married, singles, Deaf, Hearing, and Hard-of-Hearing, all who share a common cultural experience and language — American Sign Language (ASL). Christ Deaf serves the Greater Washington Deaf community through a variety of ministries:
- Children’s ministries
- Women’s and Men’s fellowship groups
- Campus ministry at Gallaudet University
- Bible studies at Riderwood Retirement Community
- Prison ministry to Deaf inmates in the Maryland Department of Corrections
During holiday seasons, Calvary and Christ Deaf worship together for evening services.
