Sunday Service Now Live Online
Today, I would like to give you an update on our procedure for Sunday services. Beginning this Sunday, August 2nd, we will be resuming 10am Sunday morning worship services in-person for a limited number of guests. In order to manage our numbers, which we expect will be very small, we do ask that you RSVP prior to attending a service. To do this, you can email me (pastor@calvarysilverspring.org) or contact the church office.
Beginning this week we will also be switching to a live-stream of the Sunday service. To be clear, you will still be able to watch the service at a later date or time if you wish, as the service recording will be archived, but we invite you to join us at 10am each week for the live-stream if you can.
To access the live-stream of our Sunday services you can visit our website page where the live-stream is embedded. You can find it at calvarysilverspring.org/resources/videos/ If this does not work for you, you can also find the live-stream, and all of our recent service recordings on our Vimeo site here: vimeo.com/calvarysilverspring
If you encounter an issue watching the live stream on Sunday mornings, it is possible there could be lags or delays as the video streams. However, there is also a small chance that the video will be interrupted on our end, in which case we will be forced to start a new live-stream feed. If this happens, please go over to vimeo.com/calvarysilverspring and you should be able to find the new video.
After the service ends each week, a recording will automatically be created which can be viewed anytime. We will be sharing links to the live-stream and service recordings on our website, Vimeo page, and on our Facebook page.
I know that this may seem like a lot of information, but I wanted to provide you will several different tools and ways to access our videos in case you encounter an issue. I am hopeful that providing this live-stream will allow for an even more personal form of worship on Sunday mornings, and we will also be very glad to welcome a small number of worshipers to join us in person each week.
Please join me in praying for the ministry and outreach work of our church right now as we seek to care for unique needs during this time of isolation and quarantine. While these circumstances are certainly different than what we would wish, I believe there are also some new opportunities as well. We have a number of people here, and throughout the country, who are watching our service recordings each week, who have never worshiped with us in person. We pray that the good news of Jesus Christ, and the faithful promises of our eternal God, would continue to be received by many during these days.
