Worship is the primary and most important time for us to gather as a congregation. In the worship experience we learn together, repent together, and celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Communion together. As a member of Calvary we invite all of our adults and families to be in worship as often as possible to in order to grow together and care for each other as a church family.
Aside from worship we also offer many other opportunities for adults to be in community, serve one another, and reach into the community around us.
We have a variety of small groups meeting on a regular basis. These groups generally gather to support one another through life events, organize activities and to spend time in the Bible and discussing aspects of their faith.
Looking for fellowship and a safe place to chat? You can join the Men’s Breakfast in person at church or on Zoom, every Wednesday morning at 8:30. “Just like in Las Vegas, whatever is said at the Men’s Breakfast stays at the Men’s Breakfast”!
Every member of Calvary is assigned a Shepherd. The Shepherds program was designed so that Calvary members might better care for one another and stay connected, especially in times of need or crisis. There is a small group of Shepherd’s who are assigned a number of members from the congregation that they work to stay in touch with on a regular basis. If you are interested in learning more about the Shepherd’s Program or are interested in becoming a Shepherd please contact the church office.
Calvary hosts a large number of events every year and members and visitors are always encouraged to attend these events or help serve during them. Annual events range from a Chili Cook-Off to Breakfast with Santa, a Women’s Christmas Dinner and Easter Sunrise Service and Breakfast. Other events include outdoor festival days, young adult activities and service projects that are scheduled from time to time. You are invited to stay in touch with all the events happening at Calvary and participate whenever possible.
We believe that serving those around us is an essential part of discipleship. For this reason, the Calvary Mission Team and other groups at Calvary regularly organize opportunities for Calvary members to serve our local community, our city, and those abroad. Opportunities to serve include Calvary’s Fair Trade Ministry, which assures fair and equitable prices for merchants and farmers in other parts of the world, a variety of food and clothing donation projects, and hands on events working with other non-profit organizations in our community. If you would like information on serving at Calvary please speak with Lori Shwartz or Sherrell Goolsby who co-chair the Mission Team, or contact the church office.
