Construction Update 8/31/16
Yesterday the last cedar shingle was nailed to the A-Frame roof. This marks the first time the A-frame roof has been replaced since 1962 when it was completed. To finish the job a brand new copper cap was installed along the pinnacle of the A-frame.
On this beautiful Wednesday morning, construction foreman Irv Heinle invited Pastor Mike to take a ride through the air. Some great photos were taken, but nothing can top Pastor Kemper’s bravery in the 60’s as he sat on the roof with one leg on either side (and no harness).
All exterior walls of the sanctuary have now been repainted with colors very similar to those used when the building was new. Inside the sanctuary electrical work is about to pick up again as new fixtures are set to arrive next week. Soon, Calvary’s sanctuary will be more well lit than ever before adding a welcoming brightness to the worship services.
